Last year at Hard Rock Hell Northern Ireland’s Stormzone were the standout act of the whole festival. Now with support slots for Saxon and a place at Bloodstock in August to complement this Sonisphere appearance, their stock is certainly on the rise in 2014. Admittedly being up against Anthrax may have hurt them a little but there is no doubt in my mind that those who did choose to attend this performance saw something truly special. This was a set of genuine flair which saw the massive grin on guitarist Steve Moore’s face never vanish, and the spectacular vocal power of John ‘Harv’ Harbinson eclipse just about every other singer in Knebworth. ‘Three Kings’ was outstanding, ‘The Pass Loning’ was unbelievable and ‘Where We Belong’ proved an epic of ‘Fade to Black’ and ‘Seventh Son of a Seventh Son’ proportions. Once again this phenomenal act proved a true highlight, and to anybody reading this who will be heading to Bloodstock, I implore you in the name of all that is metal to go and watch these guys!
